We are sorry to report that this year's Annual Pig Out in the Park, Spokane's favorite food and music fest, has been cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns. However, it is scheduled to return September 1-6, 2021.
The Friends of Manito Special 2020 Plant Sale Aug 5-9
The Friends of Manito normally put on two plant sales each year to raise money for special projects and activities supporting Manito Park. This year, in place of their Fall plant sale, they are having a special plant sale, by appointment only, going on now through Sunday, August 9 in Manito Park.
It will be in the TFM 'Yard', next to the parking lot to the east of Gaiser Conservatory. As always, the TFM plant sale will include a spectacular selection of perennials, house plants and handmade Home & Garden Decor items.
Hours are noon-8pm today, August 6, and Friday through Sunday, 7am-3pm.

 KPBX Kids' Concert: Classic Summer Songs, August 14
Linda Parman and Steve Simmons will be performing for a broadcast on Friday, August 14, from 10-11am. You can listen to the broadcast on KPBX 91.1, or stream it online.
Both musicians have been performing in Spokane for years solo and in a variety of ensembles and are veterans of previous KPBX Kids' Concerts. The concert will take you on a journey through classic summer songs. Songs may include 'Bicycle Built for Two,' 'In The Good Old Summertime,' 'Shine on Harvest Moon,' 'By The Beautiful Sea,' novelty songs, and camp sing-a-longs. The concert may include a brief interview with Verne Windham and is designed to present classic songs and engage listeners of all ages with opportunities to sing along at home.
 Rusty Jackson to perform for Friends of the Bing August 14 & 21
Friends of the Bing presents Country music singer/songwriter Rusty Jackson, Friday, August 14 and August 21 from 5-7pm at Farmhouse Kitchen BBQ and Hotel Ruby, 477227 Hwy 95 in Ponderay, Idaho. The event is free, seating is first come, first serve.
 Sandpoint Arts & Crafts Fair this weekend
The annual Sandpoint Arts & Crafts Fair is this Saturday and Sunday, August 8 & 9 at 2nd Ave & Main Street in historic downtown Sandpoint. Over 90 artists, live music, and food vendors. Hours are Saturday 9-5pm and Sunday 9-4.
