BachFest to present violinist Itzhak Perlman in sold-out recital

Northwest BachFest, Zuill Bailey Artistic Director, is presenting 'An Evening with Itzhak Perlman,' a recital featuring Itzhak Perlman, one of the world's greatest violinists, and performing with his longtime accompanist, pianist Rohan De Silva, in Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox, on Monday, January 13, at 7:30pm.

In addition to general ticket sales, a limited number of VIP tickets with seating in the first rows of the theater and a Meet the Artist reception were sold for this BachFest Legacy concert. The concert, which is to benefit the BachFest Legacy Fund, was sold out months ago.

This is the first time Perlman has performed in Spokane since he was featured at Expo '74 with the Spokane Symphony on September 4, 1974 in the Spokane Opera House which is now the First Interstate Center for the Arts. This appearance sponsored by Northwest BachFest is part of Perlman's 75th Birthday Tour.

Undeniably the reigning virtuoso of the violin, Perlman enjoys superstar status rarely afforded a classical musician. Beloved for his charm and humanity as well as his talent, he is treasured by audiences throughout the world who respond not only to his remarkable artistry, but also to the irrepressible joy of making music, which he communicates.
