ArtFest at the MAC starts this Friday



The Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture's annual ArtFest is this weekend, Friday, May 31 through Sunday, June 2 at Coeur d'Alene Park in Browne's Addition. See over 150 artists offering ceramics, fiber arts, jewelry, mixed media, painting, photography and digital art, leather art, metalwork and woodwork for sale. This is the Museum's 34th Annual ArtFest, Spokane's largest juried art fair. It's a three-day celebration of art, music and food and an Inland Northwest tradition for the entire family. Admission is free.

Manito Spring Plant Sale this Saturday June 1



The Friends of Manito Annual Spring Plant sale will be held this Saturday, June 1 in the parking lot just east of the Gaiser Conservatory in Manito Park. There will be a huge selection of perennials, shrubs, vines, ornamental grasses, vines, houseplants, and much more. Sale hours are 8am to 3pm. Friends of Manito members receive a 10% discount at the sale.

Manito Park Bench Cafe opens this Saturday



More from Manito Park - the Manito Park Bench Cafe opens for the summer season this Saturday, June 1, from 7am-3pm. The Cafe will open for extended summer weekend hours of 7am-8pm starting Friday, June 7, and regular daily hours Monday through Thursdays from 7am-7pm, beginning June 17.

Their Outdoor Summer Concert series continues this year on Friday evenings, with music running from 6-8pm. The first concert of the season is Friday, June 7 featuring musical guest The Tourist Union. Concerts are free to attend.

The Park Bench Cafe offers great sandwiches, wraps, salads, beverages, snacks, ice cream, morning pastries, bagel sandwiches, espresso drinks, lemonade and more available for purchase.

Art Garfunkel at the Fox rescheduled for January 16, 2020

The Art Garfunkel concert, originally scheduled at Martin Woldson Thater at The Fox for Thursday May 16, has been rescheduled for January 16 of next year. The concert was cancelled due to heavy rain that caused flooding backstage and on stage at The Fox. Thankfully, the theater did not sustain any significant water damage.

Tickets for the original concert are still valid, and refunds are available through June 28 if the new date doesn't work for ticketholders. Good seats are still available for those who would like to purchase tickets for the January concert.

Animation Show of Shows at Panida Theater this weekend



This Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May 31-June 2, Sandpoint's Panida Theater presents the 20th Annual Animation Show of Shows featuring 15 International animated short films from six countries. These films demonstrate that in the right hands, animation can be a vehicle for personal expression as powerful and intimate as drawing, painting or sculpture.

The Farm Chicks Vintage Fair at Fairgrounds this weekend



The very popular Farm Chicks Vintage & Handmade Fair, will be at the Spokane County Fair & Expo Center this Saturday & Sunday, June 1-2. The Fair will feature hundreds of vintage and handmade wares.

Three Dog Night coming to the Fox June 23



Legendary music icons, Three Dog Night, celebrating nearly 5 decades in the music industry, is coming to Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox on Sunday, June 23 at 8pm. With hits like 'Mama Told Me (Not To Come)', 'Joy to the World', 'Black and White', 'Shambala' have made Three Dog Night continue to be popular today. The band's now-famous name refers to native Australian hunters in the outback who huddled with their dogs for warmth on cold nights; the coldest being a 'three dog night'.

WWE LIVE coming to the Arena June 22

WWE Live SummerSlam Heatwave Tour returns to the Spokane Arena on Saturday, June 22 at 7:30pm. Festival of Speed Car Show returns to downtown for First Friday in June



Around 4pm on Friday June 7, expect to hear the roar of engines as race cars participating in the 2019 Festival of Speed rally into downtown to exhibit at Riverfront Park along Spokane Falls Blvd. Each year dozens of vintage race cars, including championship cars, turn out to participate in the two day racing event held at Spokane Raceway Park. Car enthusiasts are encouraged to see the cars up close on Friday between 4-7pm at Riverfront, and then head out west to experience the races on Saturday and Sunday. New in 2019, spectators can enjoy two race tracks in one weekend with the addition of a new short course version.
