Spokane Symphony Classics Concert this weekend at the Fox



The Spokane Symphony, with Music Director finalist Rei Hotoda, will perform works by Korngold and Shostakovich this Saturday, March 9, 8pm and Sunday, March 10, 3pm at Martin Woldson Theater at the Fox. Guest Violinist is Angelo Xiang Yu (pictured above), performing Korngold's captivating Violin Concerto. Other selections include Shostakovich's Eighth Symphony, considered one of the composer's finest, and Aaron Jay Kernis' 'Musica Celestis'.

Meet the Music Director Finalist at a Q&A one hour and 15 minutes before each performance, which will be followed by a pre-concert talk with the Maestro Hotoda and guest artist Angelo Xiang Yu. This talk is free to all ticketholders.

Diana Krall coming to First Interstate Center for the Arts Sept 16



Multiple Grammy Award-winning jazz pianist and world-renowned singer, Diana Krall, will perform at the First Interstate Center for the Arts on Monday, September 16. Joining Diana on tour this fall will be long-time collaborator and friend John Clayton on bass, Grammy Award-winning Joe Lovano on saxophone, and Karriem Riggins on drums.

William Shatner coming to Spokane May 17



Hollywood legend William Shatner will be at First Interstate Center for the Arts, live on stage for conversation and Q&A, Friday, May 17 at 7:30pm. Shatner will be sharing fascinating and humorous stories from portraying the original Captain Kirk in the 'Star Trek' television series and movies, and from his career spanning over 50 years as an award-winning actor, producer, director and writer. The audience will also enjoy a screening of the classic film 'Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan' on the big screen.

Disney's Aladdin Jr. at the Bing this weekend

Post Modern Jukebox at the Fox March 14



Fox Presents the return of internet sensation, Postmodern Jukebox, in their 'Welcome to the Twenties 2.0' show, coming to the Martin Woldson Theater at the Fox, Thursday, March 14 at 7:30pm. The tour is meant to prepare the world for a new decade - one that Postmodern Jukebox creator Scott Bradlee hopes will see a return to the style and craftsmanship that typified the music of past generations.

Started in 2009, Postmodern Jukebox has gone on to amass over one billion YouTube views with 3.5 million subscribers, and have chalked up more than 1.7 million fans on Facebook. For the past half decade, PMJ has toured the world, playing hundreds of shows to sold-out houses on six continents.

St. Patrick's Bleeping Bad Blarney Bash at the MAC March 15



Kickoff your St. Patrick's Day weekend activities at the Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture for their 2nd annual St. Patrick's Day Bash, Friday, March 15 at 7pm. The evening includes:

Live music with the energetic Irish band Keilidh Shillelagh, dancing and dancing techniques with the Silver Spurs costumed dancers, Irish beer (21 and over with ID) and Irish fare for purchase. There will be a best-dressed Woman and Man St. Patty's Day costume contest - chosen by the audience. The Museum's exciting exhibition galleries will be open for viewing too, which include: Luminous: Dale Chihuly and the Studio Glass Movement, Into the Arctic, The Inuit Art of Povungnituk, As Grandmother Taught: Women, Tradition, and Plateau Art, and Secret Life of an Artifact.

Artist Ildiko Kalapaks presents an Exhibition of Drawing of Friends, going on now through Saturday, March 30 at Iron Goat Brewing, 1302 W 2nd Avenue. The show features mixed media works, drawings and lithographs. Hours are Monday through Sunday 11am to 11pm.

Bill Engvall coming to Northern Quest this Sunday

Custer's Arts & Crafts Show this weekend



Custer's 42nd Annual Spring Arts & Crafts Show is this Friday, March 8 through Sunday, March 10 at the Spokane Fair & Expo Center. This year's show features 300 professional artists and crafters from across the northwest displaying and selling their fine art, hand crafts and specialty foods. Jewelry, hand thrown pottery, fused glass work, wood turning, metal art, photography, soaps, candles, paintings, wearable fiber art, mixed media, seasonal decor and more.
