Fox Presents Sergio Mendes June 12



Get ready to experience an evening of jazzy samba and Brazilian-infused pop by the Grammy-winning, Oscar-nominated Sergio Mendes on Tuesday, June 12, 7:30pm at the Fox. The Bossa Nova king, who has collaborated with such musical luminaries as Lani Hall, Stevie Wonder, Justin Timberlake and the Black Eyed Peas, is returning to Spokane with his band, including singers Katie Hampton, Gracinha Leporace and more. Mendes continues to attract legions of fans worldwide since his landmark album Brasil '66, with hits that include 'Mas Que Nada,' movie soundtrack from 'Rio' and 'The Fool on the Hill.'

Manito Park Plant Sale this Saturday



The Friends of Manito annual Spring Plant sale is this Saturday, June 9 from 8am-3pm, just east of the Gaiser Conservatory. There will be a huge selection of perennials, shrubs, vines, ornamental grasses, vines, houseplants, and much more.

Spokane Symphony Chorale in Concert this Sunday



The Cantabile Chapter of the Spokane Symphony Associates is presenting a concert with the renowned Spokane Symphony Chorale on Sunday, June 10, 4pm, at Westminster Congregational United Church of Christ, 411 S Washington. The program will include music by William Billings, Aaron Copland, Moses Hogan, Alice Parker, Richard Rodgers, Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim, Morton Lauridsen, Gwyneth Walker, Andrea Ramsey, and more. The majestic 80 voice chorale is directed by Kristina Ploeger, Full Professor of Music at Eastern Washington University.

New exhibit at Art Spirit Gallery

Allen and Mary Dee Dodge along with Michael Horswill are the featured artists in June at the Art Spirit Gallery at 415 Sherman in downtown Coeur d'Alene. There's an artist reception from 5-8pm this Friday, June 8 and the show runs through July 7.

Spokane Youth Ballet presents 'The Stone Flower' & 'Cindy Rella'



Spokane Youth Ballet will have a special summer performance on Saturday, June 16, 7pm at the Martin Woldson Theater at the Fox. With a cast of over 75 local dancers and special guest artist, Benjamin Tucker of Nevada Theatre Ballet, SYB and students from The Academy of Dance will bring you this special performance of 'The Stone Flower' & 'Cindy Rella.'

The performance begins with a staging by artistic director, Kristen Potts of the little seen ballet 'The Stone Flower'. The ballet is set to a score by Sergei Prokofiev, the last ballet he composed. The second piece on the program is resident choreographer's hilarious contemporary work, 'Cindy Rella'. This ballet was premiered in 2015 and became an instant hit with Spokane audiences. It is a retelling of the Cinderella story, and is set in 1944 with a score compiled of great music of that era.

Sugarland comes to the Spokane Arena Friday June 8

Award-winning Country duo Sugarland will bring their 'Still the Same' Tour to the Spokane Arena this Friday, June 8 at 7pm. With numerous Grammy, ACM and CMA Awards, chart-topping hits and multi-platinum sales, the pair's Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush will bring their new live show to 48 cities and feature special guests Brandy Clark and Clare Bowen.

Spokane Art School classes with artist Nora Egger



Two workshops will be held this month with artist, Nora Egger. Pets Portraits in Oil, for students ages 12 and up on Wednesday, June 20 from 10am-1pm. Cost is $30. In this workshop, students will create a head shot of their favorite pet.

Landscape in Oil, for students ages 12 and up on Saturday, June 23 from 10am-1pm. Cost is $30. Students will create a landscape in oil.
