Spokane Symphony to perform Scheherazade this weekend



The Spokane Symphony, under the direction of Eckart Preu, will perform Rimsky-Korsakov's epic, Scheherazade, with two performances, this Saturday and Sunday, January 27 & 28. Other musical selections to be performed include, Stokowski's orchestral arrangement of Bach's Komm Susser Tod, and the US Premier of Torsten Rasch's 'Tropoi' Violin Concerto, featuring Chinese violinist Mira Wang performing the technically dazzling solo.

Benefit for Second Harvest provides the first taste of Inlander Restaurant Week



Inlander Restaurant Week is coming February 22-March 3, but diners will have their first chance to sample some of the menu items featured during the highly anticipated annual event at First Bite for Second Harvest, presented by Dairy Farmers of Washington. The second-annual fundraiser will be held Thursday, February 1 at Barrister Winery from 6-8pm. Eight Inlander Restaurant Week eateries will provide a taste of one of their courses at the event. The evening will also feature artisan cheese from Washington State creameries, and Washington wine from Barrister.

Tickets are on sale now at InlanderRestaurantWeek.com for $31 - the same price as the three-course, prix fixe Inlander Restaurant Week meals. All of the proceeds from the event will go directly to Second Harvest in support of its mission to provide healthy food to those who need it most in the Inland Northwest.

Participating restaurants include: Bonefish Grill, Casper Fry, Durkin's, Fleur de Sel, Gilded Unicorn, Mackenzie River Pizza Co., Tamarack Public House and The Davenport Hotel's Safari Room. Participating creameries include: Darigold, Ferndale Farmstead Cheese.

First Bite for Second Harvest also serves as the official kick-off to Inlander Restaurant Week. All of the 107 participating restaurants' menus will be revealed at the event, and guests will be the first to receive the official printed guide. Inlander Restaurant Week begins on February 22. Participating restaurants will provide three course meals at the set price of $21 or $31 during the 10-day eating extravaganza.


Judy Collins performs with the Spokane Symphony Feb 3



Singer-songwriter Judy Collins has inspired audiences for five decades, singing traditional and contemporary folk standards and her poignant original compositions. Her more than 50 albums have earned her multiple Grammy nods, from her stunning 1967 rendition of 'Both Sides Now,' to her 2017 nomination for 'Silver Skies Blue.' She will be backed by the Spokane Symphony under the baton of Assistant Conductor Jorge Luis Uzcategui, for this special evening of songs and stories, Saturday, February 3 at 8pm at Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox.

The 12th Annual Taste Spokane coming Feb 16



Taste Spokane is an annual fundraising event benefitting the Wishing Star foundation and will be held this year at Northern Quest Resort & Casino in Airway Heights on Friday, February 16 from 7-10pm. General Admission ticket prices are $60 and VIP tickets are $100; VIP tickets include early admittance, guaranteed seating, a souvenir wine glass, and exclusive perks. Event attendees sample products from some of Spokane's most acclaimed restaurants, regional wineries, breweries, and dessert purveyors. In addition to great food and spirits, local children and families impacted by the Wishing Star Foundation will share stories about hope and perseverance, followed by a live auction and paddle raise.

Monster Jam coming to the Arena this weekend



Monster Jam Triple Threat Series, a family-friendly, action-packed motorsport comes back to the Spokane Arena this Friday through Sunday, January 26-28. These world-class Monster Jam vehicles and athletes deliver more trucks, more racing, more freestyle, more donuts, more wheelies, and more action. Event times are Friday at 7pm, Saturday at 1pm & 7pm, and Sunday at 1pm.

Fox Presents Peking Acrobats Tonight!

Don't miss the Peking Acrobats as they perform tonight, January 24, 7pm at the Martin Woldson Theater at the Fox. These experts at trick-cycling, precision tumbling, somersaulting, and gymnastics are sure to entertain. Accompanied by live musicians skillfully playing traditional Chinese instruments and high-tech special effects.

The Fireside Music series continues at Arbor Crest and the Cliff House Estate. This Friday, January 26, Daniel Mills performs pop/rock, and on Saturday, January 27, Joshua Belliardo will perform acoustic originals. Music runs from 5:30-7:30, 8pm close. Ages 21+ only. Motown the Musical opens today

Motown The Musical, begins today, January 24 at the INB Performing Arts Center. Performances run through this Sunday, January 28. This is the true American dream story of Motown founder Berry Gordy's journey from featherweight boxer to the heavyweight music mogul who launched the careers of Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Smokey Robinson and many more.
