Future Song Benefit Concert Featuring Myles Kennedy at the Bing

Future Song Foundation is a new Spokane-based, non-profit organization dedicated to sharing the power of music and mentorship with Spokane area youth. Future Song's mission is to connect the young people in our area with music teachers, musical instruments and opportunities to help them achieve their full potential.

Tomorrow night, December 15 at 7:30, join Future Song founding member Myles Kennedy, vocalist/guitarist of Alter Bridge and Slash and the Conspirators, along with Peter Rivera, former lead singer and drummer of Rare Earth, Joe Brasch and Danny McCollim, for an evening of intimate acoustic performances. Hosting the event will be Randy Shaw, long-time anchorman from KREM TV, who is returning to Spokane just for this occasion. This will be a very special night of music with all profits benefitting Future Song Foundation.

Holiday Pops with the Spokane Symphony this weekend

Join Morihiko Nakahara this weekend at the Martin Woldson Theater at the Fox, as he whisks you along in the holiday glow of a festive concert filled with fun and excitement for the whole family, featuring a screening of the Oscar-nominated classic The Snowman, with music performed by the Spokane Symphony. Also on the playbill are choral music from the Spokane Symphony Chorale and the Spokane Area Youth Choir, a visit from Santa and the popular audience sing-along. The program starts with LeRoy Anderson's A Christmas Festival, a medley of beloved American holiday tunes. Later the choral groups perform favorites, such as 'While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks by Night' and 'Sleigh Ride,' and lesser known for the season, including the 'Shepherd's Pipe Carol' and 'Candlelight Carol.'
