Wedneday, March 16, 2016 2016 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship Open Practice Day March 17
The University of Idaho and the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena are ready to host eight outstanding collegiate men's basketball teams and start the 2016 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship - First and Second Rounds.
All eight teams will practice at the Spokane Arena this Thursday, March 17, beginning at 12pm and running until 7:20pm. These practices are open to the public and admission to the Spokane Arena is free of charge, as is the parking in the Arena lots. Doors open at 11am.
NCAA Division I Men's Basketball, First and Second Rounds are this Friday, March 18 and Sunday, March 20 at the Arena, featuring six exciting games over the two days. Eight teams compete to advance to the Sweet Sixteen.

Spokane Symphony Classics Series this Saturday & Sunday
This weekend's 'Symphonic Dances' concert features Japanese superstar violinist Sayaka Shoji, returning to Spokane to perform Felix Mendelssohn's influential Violin Concerto, with the Spokane Symphony, Eckart Preu, conducts. Also on the program is Rachmaninoff's Symphonic Dances, and Michael Abels' Global Warming. Concert goers can attend a free pre-concert talk with Eckart Preu and guest artist one hour before each performance.
Concert times are this Saturday, March 19 at 8pm and Sunday, March 20 at 3pm, at the Martin Woldson Theater at the Fox.

Lyle Lovett & Robert Earl Keen at Northern Quest March 20
Lyle Lovett and Robert Earl Keen team up and swap songs on acoustic guitars when they perform at Northern Quest, Sunday, March 20. Together they co-wrote 'The Front Porch Song,' which both artists later recorded on their respective debut albums. Lovett, an American country singer-songwriter and actor, has recorded 13 albums and released 25 singles, including the No. 10 chart hit on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, 'Cowboy Man.' Lovett has earned four Grammy Awards, including Best Male Country Vocal Performance and Best Country Album.
Keen has recorded 18 albums for both independent and major record labels. His songs have been covered by several different artists from different genres, including George Strait, Lyle Lovett, The Highwaymen and the Dixie Chicks. Keen's music spans many different styles, including folk, country, bluegrass and rock.

The Spokane Home & Garden Show coming April 1-3
This year is the 40th Annual Spring Spokane Home & Garden Show, coming to the Spokane Convention Center Friday, April 1 through Sunday, April 3. This is Spokane's oldest running consumer home show, and is focused on building, renovation, landscaping, design and decor.
Over 350 exhibitors will be showcasing kitchens, room additions, windows, doors, sunrooms, fencing, spas, remodeling contractors, landscaping, decks, flooring, home security, basements, solar energy and so much more.
To celebrate their 40th (Ruby) Anniversary, the grand prize, valued at over $4,000, is a beautiful diamond ruby necklace from Clark's Diamond Jewelers, and attendees will have other chances to win more great prizes, from a Free Pizza Pipeline slice to a $50 Numerica Credit Union gift card. A new two-hour radio program, Comedy Cuts with professional comedian Nick Theisen airs on KOOL 107.1 FM Friday nights from 7-9pm. Bonnie Raitt coming to the INB September 14
Bonnie Raitt brings her soulful, sultry sound to Spokane for one night only, Wednesday, September 14 at the INB Performing Arts Center as part of her 'Dig in Deep' Tour. Performance begins at 7:30pm. Raitt will be joined by her longtime touring band: James 'Hutch' Hutchinson (bass), Ricky Fataar (drums), and George Marinelli (guitar), along with Mike Finnigan (keyboards). Bonnie Raitt's new album 'Dig In Deep' was released to critical acclaim on February 26 of this year.

Comedian Jamie Kennedy brings his humorous show to Spokane this Sunday, March 20. Kennedy has starred in Bowfinger, As Good as it Gets, The Three Kings, and Enemy of the State, and created his own comedy show on WB network, The Jamie Kennedy Experiment. Doors open at 7pm, show time is at 8.
