Red Shoe Event in honor of Toni Robideaux Friday



This Friday, November 14 AAF Spokane presents the 11th annual Red Shoe Event in honor of Toni M. Robideaux. Red Shoe is a celebration of Toni's life, her talents and her passion for the arts. It is a fundraiser for academic scholarships awarded to the best and brightest design students in our region.

Included at this year's event:
Professional Draw-Off: Derek Landers vs Chris Bovey
Student Draw-Off: Eastern Washington University vs North Idaho College vs Spokane Falls Community College
Silent auction featuring local art
Drinks, finger foods and merrymaking with Spokane's art and marketing community

Event opens at 5:30pm and will be at Hamilton Studio, 1427 W. Dean Avenue. Tickets are $15.

The Toni M. Robideaux Scholarship Fund honors Toni's contributions to the Spokane advertising, art, and design communities. It recognizes and rewards student achievement and excellence in advertising arts.

All funds generated go directly to students currently enrolled in visual and performing arts, advertising, graphic design, photography, music or marketing communication programs at accredited local/regional colleges and universities.

The Art Spirit Gallery at 415 Sherman in downtown Coeur d'Alene is having an opening reception of 'Soft Focus' with Barbara Pleason Mueller, from 5-8 pm this Friday, November 14. Meet the artist and check out her latest works. It will be 2nd Friday ArtWalk, so enjoy a lively evening of fine art, fine dining and good friends in Downtown Coeur d'Alene.

Spokane Symphony plays Haydn and Dvorak next weekend



The Spokane Symphony's Classic series continues Saturday & Sunday, November 22 & 23 featuring the music of Haydn and Dvorak. Micahel Nesterowicz is guest conductor and guest cellist Edward Arron will play Haydn's Cello Concerto. Performances are 8pm on Saturday and 3pm on Sunday at the Fox Theater. Trans-Siberian Orchestra's rock opera The Christmas Attic at the Arena



Next Friday, November 21 at the Spokane Arena, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra will perform their rock opera, The Christmas Attic, live for the first time in arenas across the country on their Winter Tour 2014. Performance is 8pm.

The production's narrative begins on Christmas Eve, when a young girl's curiosity leads her to a night of mischief and magic. Don't miss this magical event!

A Fine and Pleasant Misery Comes to the Empire Theatre in Tekoa



Enjoy the humor of Patrick F. McManus in 'A Fine and Pleasant Misery' starring Tim Behrens on Saturday, November 22, 7:00 pm at the Empire Theatre, 126 S. Crosby in Tekoa, Washington.

This is the first of all the McManus Comedies, and is a one-man show, starring Behrens, that introduces 12 zany McManus characters, from woodsman Rancid Crabtree to daft old Mrs. Swisher, from Strange the Dog to a deer on a bicycle. The McManus Comedies are family friendly, hilarious stories about growing up in rural America when you're dirt poor.

McManus is one of the most popular humor writers in the country. His 24 titles have sold more than 6 million copies, and five of his collections of short humor have made the top 10 of the NY Times Bestseller's list. Behrens has toured the stage shows to 23 states in 22 years.

Cab Calloway Orchestra coming to Northern Quest November 29



The Cab Calloway Orchestra, originally based at the exclusive Cotton Club in Harlem, was at the heart of the American jazz movement of the 1930s and 40s. Founder Cab Calloway was a star of the stage and screen and may be best known as 'The Hi De Ho Man' for the chorus of one of his most popular songs, 'Minnie the Moocher.' His grandson, Calloway Brooks, now leads the legendary band and delivers both the authentic sound of a hot jazz orchestra and the snazzy stage style that the original Cab Calloway was known for. SPR Presents Pearl Django Nov 20 at The Bing



Pearl Django will perform an energetic and exciting concert on Thursday, November 20 at the Bing Crosby Theater, starting at 7pm. Pearl Django's music adds traditional jazz classics and the feel of American swing.

'A Christmas Carol' at Civic



'A Christmas Carol' by Charles Dickens is the holiday family classic tale of love and redemption. Come enjoy the musical version of this great play at Spokane Civic Theatre November 21 through December 20. Curtain Times are Thursday through Saturday: 7:30pm and Sundays 2pm.

Riverfront Park will be all dressed up in Lights on Nov. 28

Riverfront Park is getting all dressed up for the holidays. Come experience the Spokane Winter Glow Spectacular and see our beautiful downtown park all lit up. Bring your friends and family to celebrate the first year of this new holiday tradition.

The INB will be alive with The Sound of Music Sing-a-Long



The Sound of Music is set to return to Spokane in an interactive-viewing experience unlike any other. Sing-a-long with Maria and the entire von Trapp family when The Fourth Annual Sound of Music Sing-a-Long arrives at the INB Performing Arts Center on Saturday, December 6.
