Major ceramics show at The Kolva-Sullivan Gallery



The Kolva-Sullivan Gallery at 115 South Adams Street presents the Annual Archie Bray Foundation Resident Show representing the best of the emerging talents in American studio ceramics. See the formative work of artists evolving into national and world prominence. Spokane is fortunate to be able to view the diversity and quality of ceramic talent showcased in this exhibition. Comedian ventriloquist Terry Fator at Northern Quest Saturday

'Love Story' by Hara Allison at the Kress Gallery

This First Friday, October 3 from 5 to 9pm, artist Hara Allison presents 'Love Story' a show of her paintings at the Kress Gallery in River Park Square.

Inspired at an early age by her mother's paintings and sculptures, Hara has used that influence to discover her own style of art, mixing acrylic with other medium to create rich textures with a bit of sparkle! Hara's subject matter captures the sensuality of women as well as the childlike wonder of little girls.

Custer's Fall Antique & Collector's Sale this weekend

The 39th Annual Custer's Fall Antique & Collector's Sale is this Friday through Sunday, October 3-5 at the Spokane Fair & Expo Center. This year's show features over 150 dealers from across the west coast, with thousands of vintage treasures for you and your home.

KPBX Kids' Concert featuring the Urban Coyote Bush Band Sat. October 4

Spokane Public Radio invites the community to River Park Square on Saturday, October 4 for a free KPBX Kids' Concert. The unique Urban Coyote Bush Band will play from 1-2 pm in the main atrium, performing folk songs from the Australian Outback and the British Isles.

Since its inception in Spokane in 1982, the Urban Coyote Bush Band has carried the spirit and flavor of Australian folk music to audiences throughout the Northwest. Group members include Ken Raymond, Paul Tapp, and Jim Roberts. Among them, they play guitar, bass, mandolin, fiddle, harmonica, banjo, pennywhistle, accordion, bouzouki, bodhran and lagerphone (an Australian rhythm instrument fashioned from bottlecaps).

In addition to music from Down Under, they also add tunes and songs from Appalachia and the Celtic lands. Known for their harmonies and the rollicking lyrics of their songs, they please crowds of all ages. Particularly with younger audiences, they enjoy getting their audiences to 'help out' with their renditions.

Beyond Pink Fundraising Event October 10

Beyond Pink is hosting their 5th annual Designer Bra Fashion Show on Friday, October 10 at the Spokane Convention Center. Doors open at 5pm with a silent auction with hundreds of items, no-host bar and hors d'oeuvres. At 7pm, the live show and auction will begin. There will be an entertaining show opener, then local artists and designers will show off their best. Themed packages will be auctioned off one by one throughout the evening. The event will wrap up with an exclusive VIP event.

100% of the net proceeds will go towards funding for women who cannot afford thermography. To date, the charity has helped over 300 local women in the battle against breast disease, a number not lost on those behind this event's success.
