Spokane Arena turns 20!



On Thursday, September 4, Boston and Night Ranger officially set in motion the 20th event season at the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena.

Throughout the year, Spokane can expect to see a variety of incredible promotions and special announcements celebrating 20 fantastic years at the Arena. Guests of the building will notice a few initial decorative additions to the facility, highlighting some of the biggest performers, bands and sporting events the Arena has hosted since 1995. The 20th Anniversary of the Spokane Arena is going to be a celebration like no other.

Upcoming events in the 20th Anniversary Season include Boston with Night Ranger, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, Elton John, Blake Shelton, Casting Crowns, Safe in Sound Festival, Disney on Ice, Winter Jam Tour Spectacular, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Motley Crue, Gonzaga vs. WSU Men's Basketball, General Store presents Wrangler Pro Bull Riding Classic, Monster Jam, 2015 NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship-Spokane Regional, AMSOIL ArenaCross and Marvel Universe Live! 'Walls on Walls: New photographic Work' from Larry Ellingson is at the Saranac Art Projects Gallery, 25 W Main Avenue through September 27th. There's an Opening Reception this Friday, September 5 from 5 to 9pm.

Josh DeWeese at Trackside Studio



Noted ceramic artist Josh DeWeese is the featured artist at Trackside Studio Ceramic Art Gallery, 115 South Adams, this First Friday through September 30. The opening reception for this exhibit is Friday, September 5 from 5-9pm.

Josh is also demonstrating in the Trackside Studio, his ceramic throwing, building and glazing techniques, Saturday, September 6th from 10am-3pm. A nominal fee of $20 is be being charged to help defray his expenses. Tough Enough to Wear Pink Rodeo at the Fair



The Spokane County Interstate Fair & Tough Enough To Wear Pink Rodeo is this Friday, September 5th. Stop by the Because There is Hope booth (shown here with Miss Spokane Interstate Rodeo Katherine Merck) in the Plaza and at the Grandstand Gate.

They will have a photo booth, Pink merchandise and two Pink Guitars signed by Tim McGraw and Miranda Lambert. The drawing to be held at the rodeo on Friday. The Tim McGraw guitar was donated by the Mountain 93.7 and the Miranda Lambert guitar was donated by Anthony Eppers.

Preu and Wolski to perform at Touchmark

Touchmark on South Hill welcomes Spokane Symphony Conductor Eckart Preu and Concertmaster Mateusz Wolski to perform in their grand lobby on Monday September 8. Symphony enthusiasts and the public are invited to attend this event, which will include a presentation about the symphony prior to the performance. There is no charge.

Touchmark is on the South Hill at 2929 S. Waterford Drive (off 29th Avenue and Pittsburg Street).

Rockin B Ranch Cowboy Supper Shows Continue Sept 12 & 13

The Rockin' B Ranch is celebrating their 20th year with a series of special Cowboy supper shows this summer and are continuing in September and October. Join the Riders of the Rockin' B as they perform great Cowboy music and enjoy lots of great music, great food and great fun. Don't miss it!

This month's shows are Friday & Saturday, September 12 & 13, and next month's shows are Friday & Saturday, October 10 & 11, at 6:15pm. So come enjoy the Riders of the Rockin' B Ranch!

Patit Creek Cellars, from Walla Walla, now has a tasting room in downtown Spokane across from the Davenport Hotel. This special event at Urbanna, you'll have an opportunity to meet Rachel, the cheese expert, and her husband, Cody, the wine expert. The two will teach how to properly taste the cheeses with wine. 6 Whites and 6 Reds, and imported cheeses. You'll learn great tips on pairing and eating cheeses with wine.

The cost is $15 for the pairing fee, with $10 of that applied to bottle purchase of Patit Creek wine. With this bottle purchase, you will also receive a free tasting of their Ice Wine with a taste of cheese.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra brings new Rock Opera to Spokane

'The Christmas Attic' will rock Spokane this year. Rock theater rockstars Trans-Siberian Orchestra will wrap up 2014 by performing their rock opera 'The Christmas Attic' live for the first time in arenas across the country on their Winter Tour 2014, and will take the stage at the Spokane Arena on Friday, November 21.
