It's Pig Out time in Spokane!

Spokane's biggest party is going on now through Labor Day at Riverfront Park - the 35th annual Pig Out in the Park. It's the biggest music and food event in the Inland Northwest with 45 great food booths, three adult beverage gardens and 100 free concerts on three stages.

Los Lobos, the featured band, is playing on the Clocktower Stage Friday night, August 29 at 9. And I'll be emceeing the City Hall stage for all six days introducing 32 bands. Come say hello!

Labor Day Weekend Symphony Concert in the Parks

This Labor Day weekend, the Spokane Symphony will have two outdoor performances. Both performances are free to the public.

The first is this Saturday, August 30 from 6-7:30pm at Pavillion Park in Liberty Lake. Concert is sponsored by Friends of Pavillion Park.

Then on Monday, Labor Day, from 6-7:30pm, the Symphony performs in Comstock Park on the South Hill. This concert is sponsored by Umpqua Bank, who is also giving away free ice cream on a first-come, first-serve basis ahead of the concert!

Sit out side and enjoy the Symphony Conducted by Music Director Eckart Preu performing 'The Star-Spangled Banner', Prokofiev's 'Peter and the Wolf', with Jim Swoboda, narrating, Williams' 'Theme from Star Wars', Sousa's 'Stars and Stripes Forever', and much more. The concert is especially kid-friendly this year, featuring an audience sing-along of 'Let it Go' from Disney's blockbuster film 'Frozen'.

So come early with your picnic, blanket & chairs, bring the whole family and enjoy the sounds of the Spokane Symphony for their last outdoor concerts of the summer season!

Spokane Tribe powwow this Labor Day weekend

The Spokane Tribe of Indians hosts its 100th annual Labor Day weekend powwow and celebration in Wellpinit. Events include traditional dancing and drumming performances, ceremonies, and more. 'Church' is in session in Sandpoint September 3

Reverend Horton Heat plays Sandpoint's The Hive Wednesday, September 3 at 8pm.

Les Mis at Lake City Playhouse
