'Beneath Your Beautiful' a unique art show by Hara Allison




Artist Hara Allison has painted 11 local women who have posed for her, been photographed and then had their likeness captured on canvas. The everyday models won't see the finished painting until the night of the show: 'Beneath Your Beautiful' First Friday, April 4, 5-9pm at V du V Winery, 12 South Scott Street, Spokane. Former GU Bulldog (and Pink Tie Guy) Matt Santangelo named Executive Director of Hoopfest




Matt played a key role in putting Gonzaga on the national college basketball landscape. In his final two years at GU, he helped lead the Zags to back-to-back NCAA tournament appearances, including the Elite 8 in 1999 and the Sweet 16 in 2000.

He finished his career as Gonzaga's all-time assist leader with 668 and currently ranks fifth in scoring with 1,810 points.

After graduating, Matt played professional basketball in Europe for six seasons. He is a former benefits consultant for an insurance brokerage house. Matt also is the color analyst on Gonzaga men's basketball radio broadcasts, which are carried on 1510 KGA.


Just announced - the 2014-2015 Best of Broadway season

After months of anticipation, the new season ticket packages will include 'The Book of Mormon' (August 12 - 17, 2014), the winner of 9 Tony Awards including Best Musical and by the creators of South Park; the wildly outrageous 'Blue Man Group' (October 16 - 29, 2014); the Tony Award winning 'Memphis' (February 19 - 22, 2015); 'Camelot' (March 26 - 29, 2015); and the classic 'Guys and Dolls' (April 23 - 26, 2014).

In addition, six additional special engagements will be available first to season ticket holders to add to their season packages. The special engagements are: 'Under the Streetlamp' (Saturday, October 25, 2014), 'Cirque Dreams, Holidaze' (Friday, November 21, 2014), 'GRINCH' (November 26 - 30, 2014), 'Shatner's World' starring William Shatner (Thursday, December 4, 2014), 'Alton Brown LIVE! The Edible Inevitable Tour' (Sunday, March 1, 2015) and 'Mamma Mia' (March 20 - 21, 2015).

Women Helping Women Fund Movie Benefit at the Garland Tomorrow

The Women Helping Women Fund of Spokane will have a special movie screening tomorrow, Thursday, April 3 of the 2006 film, 'The Pursuit of Happyness,' starring Will Smith which is based on the book by 2014 luncheon keynote speaker, Christopher Gardner. Tickets are $10 at the door. Doors open at 6:30 pm, film begins at 7:00 pm. The film tells the story of Gardner's struggle with homelessness and chronicles his path from single father to successful entrepreneur, philanthropist, and author.

"We are honored to share his story," said 2014 WHWF President, Kris Mason, "Chris is an inspiration to us. He embodies the hope we have to make a difference in the lives of struggling women, children, and fathers. We believe the movie will inspire new individuals to learn more about the Women Helping Women Fund of Spokane and become involved."

'Twisted Details'a stunning show at Kolva-Sullivan




Robin Dare and Robert Kraut's stunning exhibit 'Twisted Details', is at the Kolva Sullivan Gallery, 115 South Adams through April 26th. There's and opening reception this st Friday, 5 to 8pm.

Annual Spokane Home & Garden Show April 4-6

The 38th Annual Spring Spokane Home & Garden Show will be this Friday, April 4th through Sunday, April 6th at the Spokane Convention Center. The show is focused on building, renovation, landscaping, design and decor.

Tim Behrens performs 'A Fine and Pleasant Misery' at the Pearl Theater in Bonners Ferry

The McManus Comedies continue and Tim Behrens will bring to life the first of all the McManus comedies, 'A Fine and Pleasant Misery' in Bonners Ferry at the Pearl Theater, Friday & Saturday, April 11 & 12. Showtime is 7:30pm.

'New Work by 13 Artists' at the Art Spirit Gallery




Kick off Coeur d'Alene's 2014 ArtWalk season with 'New Work by 13 Artists' at the Art Spirit Gallery, 415 Sherman. The opening reception and ArtWalk will be on Friday, April 11 from 5-8 pm. Blue Grass Gospel Concert

The (New) Mountain Dew Boys will present a Bluegrass Gospel Concert at the Green Bluff United Methodist Church, located at 9908 East Green Bluff Road, Colbert, this Saturday, April 5. This is free, although a goodwill offering will be accepted.

The Green Bluff Grange, just across the road, will sponsor a ham and scalloped potato dinner with salad, veggie, dessert and drinks, prior to the concert. Dinner starts at 5:30 pm. Cost is adult $10, 12 & under $5; family of 2 adults/3 kids is $30.
