The MAC's 28th annual Art Fest is this Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Browne's Addition's Coeur d'Alene Park. Over 160 artisans, food booths, live music, wine and beer garden, art-making tent for kids of all ages and more. Go to www.northwestmuseum.org for all the details.

7 am tomorrow morning, Thursday, May 30. The location of the announcement listed on the news release says 'North east entrance of the Spokane Arena (not for long)'.

 Manito's Park Bench Cafe is open

The Park Bench Cafe in Manito Park is open for the season. The Cafe will operate with a weekend schedule 9am to 5pm for weekends (Friday-Sunday only) until June 15, then hours and days will be extended for the season, open seven days a week. The popular Friday night Free Concert Series begins this Friday, May 31 with Maxie Ray Mills playing at 5:30, Union Street performs at 6:15 and Paul Grove plays at 7pm.  Lake City Playhouse takes you 'Into the Woods'
Lake City Playhouse at 1320 E. Garden, Coeur d'Alene, presents 'Into the Woods,' a musical by Steven Sondheim and James Lapine, directed by Troy Nickerson, opening this Friday, May 31 and running through June 29.
In this fractured fairytale, a Baker and his Wife swindle, lie, and steal from Cinderella, Rapunzel, and Little Red Riding Hood in order to break the Witch's spell.

 Ian Richards' 'Love Notes' starts Sunday on KOOL 107.1 FM
Former BBC radio personality Ian Richards returns to the Spokane airwaves this Sunday evening, June 2 from 7pm until midnight to debut a new series of his highly popular 'Love Notes' live and local request and dedication shows on the city's newest independent local music station KOOL 107.1. Many will remember Ian and his catchphrase 'good evening luvvies' in his very recognizable English brogue when he presented the show back in the mid 90's.

Cowgirls & Women Warriors Benefit Concert June 9
Award winning artist Juni Fisher will be the headliner at the Women Warriors Retreat Benefit Concert on Sunday, June 9 at The Cowgirl Co-op, 20424 N Dunn Road. The Retreat starts at 10:30am with Guided Horseback Winery Ride and the day continues on with a BBQ lunch at 3:30 and the Juni Fisher concert beginning at 5:30. There will also be a silent auction.

Sandpoint's Catherine Earle at the Art Spirit Gallery

The Art Spirit Gallery at 415 Sherman in downtown Coeur d'Alene opens a show of 30 new acrylic paintings by Sandpoint artist Catherine Earle on Friday, June 7 with a reception from 5-8 pm. Catherine Earle will also give an informal acrylic painting demonstration in the gallery from 1-4 on Saturday, June 8.

Spokane Public Radio presents a night at the movies
SPR presents a special event for film and Hitchcock fans Wednesday, June 5 at the Bing Crosby Theater that begins at 6:30 pm with a live radio show of the station's weekly film review program, Movies 101, which will be taped for later broadcast. Film critics and Movies 101 hosts Dan Webster and Nathan Weinbender will be joined on stage at 7:20 pm by regular guests Leonard Oakland and Barbara Williamson. The foursome will discuss the films and career of the brilliant and eccentric director Alfred Hitchcock.
Following the taping at 7:30 pm, enjoy the 1959 Hitchcock classic action thriller, North by Northwest, about a hapless New York advertising executive mistaken for a government agent by a group of foreign spies who pursue him across America. The film stars Cary Grant, Eva Marie Saint, and James Mason. Those wishing to stay for discussion can meet with Movies 101 hosts and other in attendees in the lobby following the movie.

Hoopfest needs court monitors
It takes over 650 volunteer court monitors to make Spokane Hoopfest the best basketball weekend on Earth and they need your help. Artist Melissa Cole creates permanent art at the JACC
The Jacklin Arts & Cultural Center (JACC), 405 N William Street in Post Falls received a grant from the Coeur d'Alene Tribe to conduct arts education with local at-risk youth. On May 19, Melissa Cole worked with local youth from the Boys & Girls Club of Kootenai County and Crosswalk North Idaho to install a mosaic on the outside patio, the first piece of permanent art at The JACC. The mosaic is composed of large salmon swimming upstream, symbolizing the area's history as aboriginal fishing grounds for the Coeur d'Alene Tribe.
Full Draw Film Tour archery show coming to the Bing
The Full Draw Archery Film Festival, an exhilarating archery experience, is coming to the Bing Crosby Theatre at 6 pm, Friday June 7th. Spokane is their 3rd stop after shows in Reno and Grants Pass. After Spokane they're going to Bozeman, Albany OR, Bend OR, Boise, Fort Collins CO, Denver, Hurricane UT and Salt Lake City. For the young and old-it's archery and adventure on 'the Big Screen.'

June 7th is a BIG First Friday at the Liberty Building
June First Friday is going to be a great night of Art, Music, Demonstrations, Open Mic Poetry, Hands on Activities, Photo Booth, Food and Drink at the Liberty Building, Main at Washington.
The event is a benefit for Casa Partners. The wonderful folks at Casa Partners and Bee Kind Gardens work to ensure that the foster children in our area do not slip through the cracks. They have a variety of programs which help to lift up these beautiful children. Learn more about what they do and supporting their mission.
The artists featured in the common spaces will be donating 20% of their sales to Casa Partners and several of the artists will be working with the Casa kids to create one-of-a-kind art works of their own throughout the summer. Artists include Megan Broughton in her artistic debut at Sante, Nathan O'Brien, creator of SpokaneComicon, displaying his illustrations in Uncle's Games, Mary Gayle Young (Earthwear Ecodesigns) and Jennene Reagor (Highgloss paintings) along with 25+ other artists at Pottery Place Plus, the graduating students of the SFCC Fine Art Program, Melissa Cole and Nikai Birchler displaying mixed media work, Joseph Drumheller's acrylics in the Atrium, Shanda Woodward showing Vintage Collage Art, Christina Deubel's paintings in the Liberty Business Center and Karen Mobley paintings in Design Spike.
