'Apollo 13: Mission Control' at the Convention Center




The creator of 'Walking with Dinosaurs' presents 'Apollo 13: Mission Control' at the Spokane Convention Center now through January 20. This fascinating interactive show transforms the Convention Center's Exhibit Hall C into a replica of NASA's Mission Control Room during the 1970 flight of Apollo 13. Exciting, compelling 'K2' is at Lake City Playhouse

'Canada's greatest guitarist,' Matt Andersen at the JACC




The Jacklin Arts and Cultural Center at 405 S. William St. in Post Falls hosts Matt Andersen in concert at 7:30 Wednesday, January 16th. He's called 'Canada's greatest guitarist' by the London Times, and has won the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. Get more information and tickets at the jacklincenter.org.


Have a Splash with the Symphony

This Friday, January 11, the Spokane Symphony Orchestra, with conductor Eckart Preu, will perform music from three contemporary composers, concluding with Stravinsky's Pulcinella Suite, at the Martin Woldson Theatre at the Fox.

Happy hour drink specials and small plates are available for purchase from 5 to 6:45pm and performance runs from 7 to 8pm. Thirty lucky advance-purchase ticketholders will get to sit on stage as the orchestra performs. Great films coming to The Bing




The Bing Cinema Encore Series this month features the classic James Bond film, 'Dr. No' starring Sean Connery. Showtimes are Saturday, January 19 at 3pm, 5:30pm and 8pm and also on Tuesday, January 22 and Wednesday, January 23, both days at 5:30pm and 8pm. 'Dr. No' was the first James Bond film ever made, adapted from Ian Fleming's novel of the same name. This film will be shown on the Bing's new state of the art viewing screen.

Future films coming to the Bing include 'Princess Bride' and 'The Godfather'.

Tom Quinn Workshops at Spokane Art School

Artist Tom Quinn is holding workshops at Spokane Art School, 809 W. Garland next to the Tinman Gallery. 'Drawing the Human Hand' is Saturday, January 19, 10 am to 2pm; 'Painting Clouds in Oil' is Saturday, January 26, 10 am to 2 pm; and 'Drawing Caricatures' is Saturday, February 2, 10 am to 2 pm.

Regional premiere of 'Escanaba in Love' at Civic

Spokane Civic Theatre presents the regional premiere of 'Escanaba in Love' now through February 2 on the Main Stage.

The band of crazy 'Yoopers' are back in 'Escanaba in Love,' the prequel to the hit comedy, 'Escanaba in da Moonlight.' The plot may be wacky and off-the-wall, but it is also heart-warming and uplifting. 'Escanaba in Love' is certain to tickle your funny bone and pull at your heart strings.

Artists reception for 'Points of Departure' at Art Spirit

Bridal Fest Coming to Spokane

This year's Bridal Fest will be at the Spokane Convention Center Saturday and Sunday, January 12 & 13. Nearly 200 vendors including caterers, florists, photographers, wedding gown specialists and more. Fashion shows will be held each day. Saturday hours are 10am to 5pm, Sunday is 11am to 4pm.
