Robert Morrison show at Hamilton Studio



The Hamilton Studio, 1427 West Dean, presents colorful oil paintings of Spokane and its environs capture the light, color and playful loose brushstrokes of the Master Impressionists, while his explorations of light and shadow are also incorporated in several vibrant floral and still life compositions included in this special exhibition, by Robert Morrison, Oct. 5-31, Tuesdays-Fridays, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Morrison's other job is as a waiter at Churchill's Steak House. World Accordion Championships this week in Spokane.



The World Accordion Championships are in Spokane this week, through Saturday, culminating in the crowning of the 2012 World Trophy Accordion Champions. Spectators can attend daily competitions and nightly concerts at the Bing Crosby Theater. This prestigious competition will bring the best and the brightest of the accordion world to the United States for the first time, for an exciting week of grueling mastery of technique and sound. A Salute to Arthur Fiedler and the Boston Pops Nov. 3

Arthur Fiedler and the Boston Pops became household names during the long running PBS series Evening at Pops. The Spokane Symphony, under the direction of Resident Conductor Morihiko Nakahara, will recreate the tradition on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 8:00 p.m. at Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox.

An Evening at Pops repertoire consisted of a combination of light classical selections blended with hits from musical theater and other popular numbers, punctuated with novelty pieces from composers such as LeRoy Anderson. Nakahara's lineup remains true to tradition. Light classics for Saturday's concert include Aram Khachaturian's "Sabre Dance" from Gayane, Johann Strauss's "Tales from the Vienna Woods," and Franz Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2. The orchestra will perform music from Broadway hits, including Leonard Bernstein's Overture to Candide, Richard Rodgers' /Arr. "Slaughter on Tenth Avenue" from On Your Toes, John Williams' "Adventures on Earth" from ET, and Meredith Willson's "76 Trombones" from The Music Man.

Come take a closer walk with Patsy Cline



"A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline," a musical tribute, is at Firth J. Chew Studio Theatre at Spokane Civic Theatre through November 24.

This production is a celebration of her life and the music of the legendary Patsy Cline, that continues to charm audiences throughout the world and it is sanctioned by her estate. The show, directed by Jhon Goodwin features 20 hit songs including "Crazy,""Walking After Midnight" and "A Closer Walk With Thee," which was her last single released.

Songs for a New World: In Concert at Civic Theatre

Enjoy a special musical presentation featuring classical, jazz, gospel and pop songs on the Main Stage at Spokane Civic Theatre. Musical highlights: "King of the World," "Stars and the Moon" and "Hear My Song." The 8th Annual In-Concert fundraiser will feature many of Spokane's finest live instrumentalists and vocalists for two nights only, this Friday and Saturday. Annual Bite Nite Halloween Party at The Lincoln Center



The Lincoln Center, 1316 North Lincoln, is gearing up for its 3rd Annual Bite Nite Halloween party this Saturday Oct 27. With a $3000 cash prize for best costume, party goers can look forward to enjoying some of the most creative Halloween costumes in town. Other prizes include I-pads and I-pods for second and third place. A people's choice award will also be given out.

The party is sponsored in part by 105.7 NOW FM, Larry H. Miller Hyundai and Goodwill. Entertainment will feature B Mega and DJ One. Doors Open at 8:00 pm.

This is a 21+ event with fully stocked bars and drink specials all night long.

Spokane String Quartet travels through 3 centuries of chamber gems

Violinist Mateusz Wolski leads the Spokane String Quartet on a musical journey to his homeland, Poland, as it continues its 2012-13 season at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, at the Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox.

Popovich Comedy Pet Theater is coming to the Bing



The Bing Crosby Theater announces the welcomed return of Gregory Popovich and his traveling pet comedy circus presented by Hotel Ruby Productions. A unique blend of comedy, juggling, acrobatics and tricks, "Popovich Comedy Pet Theater" is a must-see for the whole family and it's coming to Spokane 7:30pm, Friday December 14 and 11:00am, Saturday December 15.

Each of the show's performing pets have been rescued from animal shelters and transformed into international stage stars.
