Tim Behrens brings Patrick McManus stories alive

Spokane Symphony will fill up your senses with a Tribute to the Music of John Denver

Saturday, October 6 at 8 pm, the orchestra, under the direction of Resident Conductor Morihiko Nakahara, will kick off the exciting 2012-13 SuperPops Series with a Tribute to the Music of John Denver at Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox. Beyond Pink - 3rd annual Designer Bra Fashion Show

The Beyond Pink designer bra fashion show and fundraiser will be held at the Masonic Center in downtown Spokane on Friday, October 5 from 5-9 pm. There will be vendors, a silent auction, appetizers, and a no host bar. The fun starts at 5pm, fashion show and live auction start at 7pm. KXLY's Mark Peterson and Kristi Gorenson will emcee this year's event. 100% of Net proceeds benefit women who could not otherwise afford Thermography. Bra's are designed by local designers and donated for the live auction.

October is national breast health month and Beyond Pink is an event to raise funds for women who could not otherwise afford a certified breast thermogram. This tool in early breast disease detection is not often covered by insurance. It acts as an early warning system and can see breast disease before a lump has formed. Women who want to take a pro-active role in their breast health now have the ability to monitor it and avoid giving a tumor a chance to form. Thermography is safe, non-invasive, and radiation free.

Custer's Antique & Collectors Sale coming next weekend

The 37th Annual Custer's Fall Antique & Collectors Sale will be held at the Spokane County Fair & Expo Center Friday, October 5 through Sunday, October 7. Over 200 dealers from across the country with thousands of vintage treasures. Roy's Glass Repair will also be on site to fix almost any glass or crystal piece that is chipped. Nurse Nancy's Doll Repair will offer restoration to heirloom dolls.

Also returning this year, the Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture's Appraisal Days on Saturday and Sunday. Bring your family treasures to find out what they're worth. Cost of admission plus $7 per item.

Left Over Soul playing Saturday and Sunday

Left Over Soul (aka L.O.S), a 6 piece rhythm and blues band is playing this Saturday September 29, at 9pm at the Swamp (1904 West 5th) with the Longnecks. They will also play at the Spokane Public Market on Sunday, September 30 from 3-6 pm as part of the Market's Oktoberfest celebration.

Art Along the River

The Little Spokane River Artist Studio Tour takes place Saturday, September 29, from 10am to 5pm. The Little Spokane River once again is the showcase for high quality arts and crafts. Come and explore the studios where five artists work and view the landscapes and gardens which inspire them. Talk with professional artists and purchase artworks in a wide range of media and price. The studio owners have invited 24 participating guests artists to join them.

Spokane Renaissance Faire is October 5 and 6




The first weekend in October, the 5th and 6th, Spokane Entertainer's Guild will transport you back in time to the year 1545 at the Spokane Renaissance Faire 'Tournament of the Golden Apple'. This is a fun fundraiser for Second Harvest Food Bank at the Cowgirl Coop on the back side of Green Bluff.

Patrons are invited to come take part in the festivities and be submerged into a world where chivalry comes alive with extraordinary wares and crafts, talented singers, storytellers, musicians and shows for all ages. An international court of nobles will vie for the coveted Golden Apple trophy, competing in various events like sword fighting, archery, bocce ball, dancing and of course, jousting. The hours are 11am to 6pm Saturday October 5th, and 11am to 5pm Sunday October 6th.

Dine for a Cause to benefit Hospice

Celebrate this Columbus Day by dining at selected local Italian restaurants to help Hospice patients. In honor of the Italian explorer, this Monday, October 8, Italian restaurants in Spokane are coming together to help hospice patients.

Dine at any of these restaurants on Monday, October 8, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Hospice of Spokane, Northeast Washington's only nonprofit Hospice.

Chanticleer, an Orchestra of Voices is at the Fox this Friday




Chanticleer will perform at Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox as part of the Spotlight Series this Friday, September 28 at 8pm.
