Interplayers opens with Always Patsy Cline tomorrow night

Interplayers Theatre will open its 32nd season of live professional theatre with the classic 'Always...Patsy Cline' by Ted Swindley on Thursday, Sept 13, with the gala opening performance on Friday, Sept. 14, starring Cheyenne Nelson singing 27 country favorites and accompanied by Jim Ryan and band. Both performances begin at 7:30. A catered BBQ dinner will be available from 5:30 to 7:00, with dining in both lobbies.

Ladies Night at Mountain Gear September 19

Lake City Blues Benefit for Crosswalk features Laffin bones




Crosswalk North Idaho (formerly Project Safe Place) will hold its 14th annual Lake City Blues Benefit, sponsored by the Inland Empire Blues Society, on Saturday, September 22, 3-7pm. O'Shay’s Irish Pub and Eatery (313 E Coeur d'Alene Dr.). This family-friendly event features live music by local blues groups Laffin' Bones (pictured) and Cryin' Shame. The event will include dancing, raffles, games, s'mores, face painting and other family activities. $10 ticket includes a meal (Hot Guinness Beer Banger and beans). Go Chiefs Go! Go get your tickets!




Tickets to individual games for the 2012-13 regular season are on sale now at the Chiefs' office and all TicketsWest outlets. Tickets for all home games are available by calling 509-535-PUCK (7825), 800-325-SEAT (7328) or by logging onto www.ticketswest.com.

Spokane will open the home portion of the regular season on Saturday, September 29th when they host the Tri-City Americans on Bud Light Opening Night. The Chiefs play a 36 game home schedule, 26 on weekend nights, from September through March. Included in the 26 weekend dates will be 10 Friday nights, 15 Saturday nights and one Sunday.

Walk-up ticket prices range from $10-$20. Students, military personnel and senior citizens all receive a $1 discount on select levels while children under the age of 12 receive a $3 discount.

The Chiefs also offer special rates of up to $5 off the walk-up price for groups of 10 or more fans. A number of party areas, serving groups from 10 to 200, are also available in the Spokane Arena, including two unique ice-level group areas, the Cricket Crease on the east end of the ice, and the Corner located on the northwest end of the building.

Tickets packages, which start as low as $88, are available right now by contacting a Chiefs Account Executive at 509-535-PUCK.

The year 1545 is fast approaching

The first weekend in October, the 5th and 6th, Spokane Entertainer's Guild will transport you back in time to the year 1545 at the Spokane Renaissance Faire 'Tournament of the Golden Apple'. This is a fun fundraiser for Second Harvest Food Bank at the Cowgirl Coop on the back side of Green Bluff.

Patrons are invited to come take part in the festivities and be submerged into a world where chivalry comes alive with extraordinary wares and crafts, talented singers, storytellers, musicians and shows for all ages. An international court of nobles will vie for the coveted Golden Apple trophy, competing in various events like sword fighting, archery, bocce ball, dancing and of course, jousting. The hours are 11 am to 6 pm Saturday October 5th, and 11 am to 5 pm Sunday October 6th.

16th Annual Chili Cook-Off and Fundraiser

It's time for the 16th annual Chili Cook-Off and Children's Village Benefit at Coeur d'Alene Powersports on Sunday, September 16th from 11am to 3pm. This fundraiser benefits the Children’s Village Foundation where healing children is their goal.

During this event, there will be approximately 26 chili cooking teams preparing their chili for cash prizes valued at $850 and bragging rights for North Idaho's best chili recipe. Attendees can pay $5 to taste all the chili they can eat.

Enter the fundraising raffle to win his and hers Townie Cruiser bikes, Android Tablet, pair of Pelican 8' kayaks, and more. Raffle tickets are $2 each or six for $10. The drawings for these great prizes will be at 3pm.

Families are welcome. There will be activities for everyone - face painting and treats for the kids, a DJ playing your favorite tunes, and door prizes. Please bring all your friends and help support this very worthwhile event.

All chili cook-off proceeds benefit the kids at The Children's Village in Coeur d'Alene, ID. The event has raised more than $45,000 to date. The Children's Village is a local, non-profit organization. Their mission is to care for, advocate and provide a safe, loving, nurturing and healing home for children who have been abused, neglected, homeless, or are in a severe family crisis.
