McManus is in Love this Father's Day!

Help your Dad celebrate Father's Day in style this year at the Rockin' B Ranch as they present "McManus in Love" written by Patrick McManus and starring Tim Behrens. This show features the hilarious antics of Pat and his pal Crazy Eddie Muldoon as they begin to grow up. Dad will truly enjoy this delightful comedy. The Billings Gazette reports "Behrens doing McManus is like a cross between Mark Twain and Bill Cosby."

This show is presented in dinner theatre format, this Sunday, June 19, starting 5pm with the pre-show musical group The Blacks. Dinner is served at 6pm and the show begins at 7pm. Cost is $39 for adults which includes a complete barbecue dinner; $10 for kids ages ten and under. Beer and wine are available.

Daddy Daughter Dance this Friday

Dad's, start your fathers day off right. Get your dancing shoes on and take your daughter to the Daddy Daughter Dance this Friday, June 17 from 6 to 9pm at Valley Real Life, 1831 S. Stem and Stein event for SAN Friday

Spokane Aids Network presents Stem and Stein this Friday, June 17th, at Northern Quest Resort and Casino. Doors open at 6:00pm. Tickets are $50 for individuals and $85 for couples. Designated drivers can purchase tickets for just $25 by calling SAN at 509-455-8993.

The Rockin' Bluegrass Concert Series kicks off this Tuesday, June 21 with Molly & Tenbrooks and The Panhandle Polecats. Chalk it up for Hillyard

The Hillyard Festival Association to host the 15th annual ChalkArtWalk sidewalk chalk art event on their brand new sidewalks. Registration starts at 10am this Saturday, June 18th on the corner of Olympic Ave. and Market St.

This is a completely FREE event! Cash and prizes are awarded for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd best designs in 5 age categories, as well as the overall "Best of Show" winner, who receives $100 and a custom-framed picture of their winning entry. This year's theme is "Getting There." Each artist is encouraged to use their imagination and creativity in expressing the theme in their chalk artwork. Judging begins around 2:30pm and will be announced at the registration booth as soon as the scores are tallied. All participants will receive a small assortment of colored chalk, but additional, hand-made, more vibrant colors are available for a minimal cost (as a fundraiser for the Hillyard Festival Association). Artists are encouraged to bring their own chalk, but oil pastels are prohibited, as is surface preparation. The first 100 participants will also receive a free t-shirt featuring the 2010 "Best of Show" winning design to commemorate their participation. Come early, sizes are limited.

Limerick Literary Pub Crawl this Thursday

The Spokane Limerick Sister City Society's 3rd Annual Pub Crawl and Traditional Irish Dinner starts this Thursday, June 16 at 5:15 at Cyrus O'Leary's Pub, moving on to O'Dougherty's Irish Grille, the Blue Spark, the Satellite Pub ad ending at The Onion, where a traditional Irish dinner will be served. A bit of interesting Irish trivia...the novel Ulysses by James Joyce chronicles the passage through Dublin by its main character, Leopold Bloom, during an ordinary day, June 16. 1904. This date is now celebrated by Joyce fans around the world as Bloomsday. Don Kardong named the Lilac Bloomsday Race after this long journey! Cost is $50 per person, which includes entertainment, custom t-shirts, dinner and door prizes at each pub. Libations at each pub are in addition, at reduced prices. Monty leaves after this weekend

Fridays are Free Live Music at the Park Bench

Every Friday evening this summer, free live music will be performed at The Park Bench Cafe in Manito Park. Music runs from 5:30 to 7:30pm. This Friday, June 17, Paul Grove performs classical guitar. Regular menu items available for purchase. The Park Bench Cafe also has extended hours starting this Saturday, open everyday 8am to 7pm through Labor Day.

George Flett show at Tinman this Friday and Saturday

Tinman Gallery at 811 West Garland is pleased to offer George Flett collectors the opportunity to obtain his new work before he goes on the road. Comedian Brian Posehn at the Bing August 5

Tickets go on sale this Saturday for comedian/actor/writer Brian Posehn's show at Bing Crosby Theatre August 5. Brian has most recently been seen on Comedy Central's popular show, "The Sarah Silverman Program" and on tour as one of the original members of the "Comedians of Comedy".

Besides writing and performing on HBO's acclaimed "Mr. Show", he has appeared in sitcoms such as "Just Shoot Me", "Seinfeld", "NewsRadio", "Everybody Loves Raymond", and "Friends". Brian has also appeared in several movies, including Rob Zombie's "The Devil's Rejects" and "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer", "Sex Drive" and "Surfs Up". In 2006 he released his first graphic novel, "The Last Christmas", and a comedy album: "Live in Nerd Rage". His music video for "Metal By Numbers" has been viewed over two million times on You Tube and My Space. He is a regular on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" and was a crowd favorite at the recent Bob Saget Roast on Comedy Central.
